Resumes and Interviews

Resumes and Interviews tips

JOURNALIST
I like this site due to the fact that it’s very easy to navigate as well as locate the position you want. On top of that it provides the information need about the resume by showing it to you as well as describing it as you continue on throughout the page.

VIDEO GAME DESIGNER
I like this site because due to the position applied for it shows that its basically the same as any other resume but the key is the special skill and the experience. Also the basic copy and fill in the blank type of page makes it easier to have a rough draft of a resume to work with.

SOCIAL WORKER
This site works great, this opening quote basically sums up the whole reume "Your social worker resume should portray your strong interpersonal abilities, your empathy, tolerance, loyalty and professionalism. When you are writing your resume you need to present these special qualities convincingly as well as your proficiency in upholding strict confidential codes of behavior when managing your clients."

Cover Letter Samples

Cover Letter Take #2

Michael Vincent CEP121 Assignment >A

GENERAL

This site is very good in my opinion due to its facts and points on cover letters. It shows good examples of what to and not to put on a cover letter. Also it displays organization skills as well as the parts about font size and thing to summarize as to maintain and catch a potential employer’s attention. Overall I prefer this one because it gives you the facts and keeps everything simple and provides a great model for one to follow.

LAWYERS

This is a particularly great site due to its validity confirmed by the school’s reputation for great lawyers. But also they provide the same information as the other site listed but they tweaked the information and geared it towards the profession of a lawyer. But they also key Intel as to how the people who are reading the cover letters scan for misspellings and the ones with misspellings are cast aside

DOCTORS

This site was by far this least informative due to the ads along the side posting up distractions ad well as the lack of information given. It was merely a 1 paragraph summary and then a copy of a cover letter for a doctor. But even with the lack of information given they did provide one key point for all doctor cover letters in which that the education and specializations you hold which is almost the same for all cover letters

And The Results are In...

Michael Vincent

ESTP
I figured as much would happen...

"They have a low tolerance for authority and commitment, and are likely to leave situations where they are expected to toe the mark, or where they must play second fiddle. Promoters understand well the maxim, "He who travels fastest, travels alone," although they are not likely to be lonely for long, since their boldness and sense of adventure tends to make them highly attractive to many other people. "

I took the test 3 times and each time same basic result the only thing that would change is whether or not I had a P or a J which does make a large difference but overall the test was basically correct. Almost to the point of “that’s me basically” once it said low tolerance for authority and is likely to leave where expected to play second fiddle. I personally hate coming in second unless I know for a fact that there was no way I could do better. And the quote they gave is very similar to the quote I always use which goes “You were born by yourself and you are going to die alone so enjoy what you have while you can because it’s not coming with you” _Michael Vincent

“Artisans are usually pretty independent. However, some do seek leadership positions. The two most likely Artisans to seek leadership are the Promoter (ESTP) and the Performer (ESFP). In fact, the book Presidential Temperament by Ray Choinierre and David Keirsey (1992) names Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton as Artisans. The Promoter is a tougher negotiator than the Performer who manages with a great deal of charm.”

As far as this is concerned I have to agree with the test but I can’t pick a side because I portray qualities of both sides but none pulling me more to either side I’m literally on both I like to be alone but I love hanging with my friends I can be very tough when I have to but I use logic to back me up and at the same time I can find sympathy with others but I never display it because it’s often mistaken as a weakness so it becomes understanding with logic
